A liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo vessel named New Energy - sanctioned by the US State Department for violating international sanctions on Russian oil and gas - was recently spotted off the coast of Galway, Ireland.

The vessel, accused of covertly transporting Russian gas, entered Irish waters after switching off its automatic identification system.



Irish authorities monitor the situation as the ship continues along the western European coastline.
